Saddle Central is proud to introduce the Ultra Pad — an innovative performance saddle pad designed with saddle fitting at its heart.

Made from high-quality bamboo cotton fabrics, the Ultra Pad combines comfort, breathability, stability and adjustability in a slim, technically designed construction.

At the centre of the design is our built-in shim system, allowing the pad to be fine-tuned to complement the saddle and horse. The Ultra Pad™ is supplied with two sets of interchangeable shims: 4 mm and 8 mm, giving the rider and saddle fitter options to make small adjustments where required.

Designed to stay where it should

The Ultra Pad incorporates carefully positioned anti-slip silicone to help reduce unwanted movement between the saddle, pad and horse.

The upper saddle area features a lightweight cushioning layer combined with a soft, anti-slip lining, helping to provide additional stability without unnecessarily increasing the overall thickness of the pad.

Airflow channels have been incorporated into the design to encourage ventilation and help reduce heat and moisture build-up during work.

The Ultra Pad has been shaped specifically for the requirements of a  GP or Jump saddle, providing clearance around the wither and spine while allowing the saddle to sit naturally on the horse's back.

Secure D-loop straps allow the pad to be attached neatly to the saddle and adjusted to suit different saddles.

Saddle fitting comes first

The Ultra Pad has been developed from a saddle fitter's perspective, with the aim of providing useful adjustment without compromising the fit of the saddle.

It is not designed to replace correct saddle fitting. Instead, the shim system provides the ability to make small, considered adjustments where appropriate.

Every horse is different, and the Ultra Pad should always be used as part of a correctly fitted saddle.
